Life is good. Life is okay. Life is okay, and it’s okay if it’s okay. Saying that something is okay can make it so, which can make it okay not to be okay, but not to be okay with being okay. Being okay with okay is the topic of this blog, so we asked ourselves: What does it mean to be okay?
To be okay means to be alright. Or to not be bothered by anything that goes on around you. To not be bothered by the past, the present, or the future. To be able to look at your life and be content, or even happy, with what you have and how you are. This is a topic that many people struggle with for their entire lives. But, many of us spend too much time worrying about things that simply don’t matter.
Some refuse to settle in less perfection, so they tend to settle for being nothing
People like to compare themselves to others. Sometimes, it isn’t easy to accept that someone else is in a better situation than we are, at least in the respect that they prioritize doing what is right and don’t settle for less than perfection. While some may complain about the time, it takes to put their lives together. They might instead be happy with what they have achieved.
It lets you work freely to get better
Some people have a lot of time to make things happen. They have a lot of extra time, and they make the best of what they have. And then there are those like me. I have many things that I want to get done in a day. And yet, there is always something that is just sitting there, ready to block my progress. It doesn’t matter what the task is, whether it is for work or just plain fun, there is always something that is just out of reach, and it is what stops me from doing the work.
It enables you to avoid being pressured to your expectations
The first and foremost thing that helps people be okay with okay is access to personal support. For some people, it’s their friends, for others it’s their parents, or maybe even their teachers. For some, it’s able to confide in a therapist. Others turn to a spiritual leader. And for others… well, there are some things that only computers can do for people. Making videos is often an exercise in frustration. The first few minutes are always fun and exciting, but the more you work on your videos, the less you enjoy them. It’s like getting to that point where you know you can master the guitar, but the basics remain: you can’t play your favorite song without picking up a pencil or a pen and repeating the same steps over and over again.
It allows you to grow
Being OK with being OK is something a lot of us struggle with. We want to be perfect, but we’re not. We waste time trying to be perfect, and we lose focus on what is truly important to us. We’re pushing ourselves toward success, yet we’re still not happy. I’m here to tell you that you don’t have to be perfect to be happy. You don’t have to be good at everything to be good at everything. It doesn’t matter if you make a mistake or make a little winky face because you a) do not know how to tell a joke or b) don’t care. It just means that you are imperfect, and you will always be imperfect.
Being okay with okay is a choice we all make every day. It’s not one that’s always easy to make, but it’s a choice that determines how we react to situations and how we treat ourselves. Why do we have to choose to be okay with okay? Why can’t we choose to be okay? Why can’t we be okay with it already?
“Being okay with okay” is an important concept that many of us struggle with, especially in the area of self-improvement. When we spend too much time worrying about what we would like to be, it becomes impossible to be the things we are. This tends to lead you to stress and anxiety, which can be a difficult way to live for many reasons.
